WELCOME TO DEAF & HEARING TRAILBLAZERS, THE UK'S EXclusive TRAINING PROVIDER FOR DEAF AND HEARING PEOPLE.
Deaf & Hearing Trailblazers is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and we are here to offer you training courses.
Our courses will provide you with new skills and knowledge to improve your potential and enable you to progress further in your work or personal and social life.
Our work benefits both organisations and individuals.
PROMOTING EXCELLENCE IN DEAF AND HEARING TEAMWORKING
On our courses, deaf and hearing people learn alongside each other and promote the positive aspect of working together to improve society.
We promote the idea of 'Deaf Gain', when people see it in action, they realise how the richness of sign language and deaf culture can benefit mainstream society and its organisations.
THE D&H TRAILBLAZERS HUB
We are neutral in philosophy and politics within the deaf community framework, we promote diversity and leaders for good.
Organisations will save time and money by giving staff and volunteers the opportunity to train at the 'hub' of Deaf and hearing Trailblazers, then they will return to their organisations and apply new knowledge and skills into specific contexts.
Some people are not attached to groups or organisations and so we will partner with suitable organisations and projects to provide these people with experiential learning so they can practice what they have learnt with us.
By special requests, the 'hub' can provide coaches/mentors to help people to apply theory into practice.
DH Trailblazers believes that:
When friendship support and understanding is shared; and positive attitudes are fostered through our activities, the experience can be mutually rewarding for deaf people, their hearing friends/colleagues and their families.
Through the DHT training programme, a variety of personal, leadership and work skills will enable deaf and hearing people to become positive role models for future generations of young people and adults.
Partnership is a two-way process: encouraging deaf people to empower hearing people in their understanding of deaf people and their diverse culture, for hearing people to empower deaf people to succeed in a challenging society where communication barriers exist.
A belief that deaf and hearing people can work together, and deaf people can provide an added value to positions of responsibility and leadership in society.
